WALK FOR WARMTH (W4W) 2012
Come join in the fun! This year we've added an inaugural event in Ionia. See our 2012 W4W brochure or flyer for details on all four of the scheduled events.
(Brochure/Flyer - Ionia County Inaugural Walk Flyer - Isabella County Press Release)
BARREN DASH 2012 (Brochure)
The Barren Dash is one of several events hosted by EightCAP, Inc. to help raise funds to assist families with heat and shelter expenses during Michigan's beautiful, yet harsh, winter. Co-hosted by, and held at, Montcalm Community College, the Barren Dash is a family friendly event that incorporates a young, modern approach to philanthropy. The inaugural year of the Barren Dash, 2011, had only one event--a one-mile indoor/outdoor swimsuit run/walk, which raised over $1,500 in contributions. This year the event has been expanded to include the one-mile run, a 5-K run, geo caching, Wii bowling tournament, t-shirt design contest, homemade cocoa contest, kids' crafts, 50/50 drawing, silent auction, and even dancing. This year the Barren Dash has set a goal of raising $3,000.
Participants in any of the activities may register by completing a registration form and bringing it with them to the event. The only event that requires pre-registration is Wii bowling, and you can email your registration to Allison at allisond@8cap.org.
Local businesses are encouraged to sponsor specific events, donate goods for the silent auction, sell paper t-shirts (sponsor cards) for $1 to their customers, or even participate in the event themselves. The Barren Dash already has several local businesses that have joined in the fun. This is gearing up to be a record breaking year already!
